Savannah-Chatham police ID suspect in domestic shooting

Savannah-Chatham police’s Violent Crimes detectives have identified the suspect in a shooting that occurred in the 100 block of Fairmont Avenue.

 

Officers responded to a call of a person with a gun around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday and found Ahjae Williams, 22, suffering from critical injuries.

According to police, Williams had entered the home of his ex-girlfriend while armed with a gun. He engaged in a confrontation with another party in the house, and gunfire was exchanged.

Detectives determined Williams to be the aggressor in this situation, and that the other involved party acted in self-defense.

At this time, Williams is listed in critical condition. Charges are forthcoming.
