The Pink Hero Run 5K

The Pink Hero Run 5K will begin at 6 p.m. at the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion, 225 Candler Drive. Our heroes are our brave breast cancer survivors. Run in their honor. Proceeds benefit the Telfair Mammography Fund, which assists uninsured and underinsured women who can’t afford a necessary mammography screening. Register: sjchs.org/herorun

Fundraiser at Chuck E Cheese

A Chuck E Cheese, 6700 Abercorn St., give back night will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 13. Fifteen percent of sales go to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. An American Cancer Society event.

Karaoke for Komen fundraiser

BigWig fundraiser Cecilia Arango will host Karaoke for Komen at 7 p.m. Oct. 14 at Jerry’s Lounge, 1209 Montgomery Cross Road.

Saturday hours at SouthCoast Health Imaging

SouthCoast Health’s Imaging Department, 1326 Eisenhower Drive, Building 1, will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays in October for mammogram screenings. That includes Oct. 7, 14, 21 and 28. Call 912-691-4200.

Making Strides of Savannah

Pink Party

7-9 p.m. Oct. 21. Cocoa’s Dessert Bar, 4 Wilmington Island Road. Join Color Geek Salon for pink martinis to help support the Real Men Wear Pink campaign. All money raised by this campaign goes directly to the American Cancer Society. Cocoa’s will be donating a percentage of every pink martini to the cause and there will be door prizes. Free mammograms for eligible women

The Chatham County Health Department’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Program and St. Joseph’s/Candler Mobile Mammography Program will hold free mammogram screenings for women who meet eligibility guidelines, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Chatham County Health Department, 1602 Drayton St. Women who meet certain annual income guidelines and are 40 to 64 years of age without insurance will be eligible to receive a screening mammogram at no cost. Appointments preferred; walk-ins accepted. Call 356-2946.

Breast Health & Breast Cancer Awareness seminar

The Paint the Town Pink Breast Health & Breast Cancer Awareness free seminar is at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24 in the Marsh Auditorium at Candler Hospital. Learn about good breast health, breast cancer prevention, genetic cancer risk and testing, and lifestyle changes paneled by experts from the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion. A Q&A session follows.

Learn about the future of advanced breast care

Learn from a panel of SouthCoast Health physicians about breast health and prevention and treatment of breast cancer. The free seminar is at 6 p.m. Oct. 24 at SouthCoast Health, 89 Interchange Drive, Richmond Hill. It includes information on 3D mammography, 3D-guided stereotactic biopsy, clinical initiatives and more. Light refreshments, door prizes.

Health fair on breast cancer awareness

Omar Court #91 Daughters will hold health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 28 at Prince Hall, 602 E. Broad St. This is a Breast Cancer Awareness activity sponsored by the Shriner’s Organization.

Fundraiser at Dancing Dogs Yoga

Sign up for a one hour of all levels vinyasa yoga class lead by Susan G. Komen Coastal Georgia’s Big Wig Shelley Lowther. Mammography Day at 6 locations

St. Joseph’s/Candler will provide mammograms for women Oct. 30 at the Telfair Pavilion at Candler, St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Imaging Services, SJ/C’s Telfair Imaging Center on Eisenhower, SJ/C Imaging Center in Pooler, and the Imaging Center at Belfair Towne Village East in Bluffton, S.C. SJ/C’s Mobile Mammography Unit will offer mammograms at the Savannah Civic Center. Schedule a mammogram at 912-819-PINK.

Koozies for Boobies fundraiser

Seventh annual Koozies for Boobies breast cancer awareness parties will be from 7 p.m. to close through Oct. 31, at Wet Willie’s Savannah River St., 101 E. River St., Savannah City Market, 20 Jefferson St., and Tybee Island, 16 Tybrisa St. Sales for all pink koozies, coolies, Koozies for Boobies T-shirts and wristbands to benefit Komen Coastal Georgia. Powerful Pink Cards fundraiser

Tanger Outlets will sell Powerful Pink Cards for $10 which gives the buyer a 25-percent discount off a single item at participating Tanger Outlets stores, with unlimited use in October. A portion of funds go to The Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Powerful Pink Cards sold at Shopper Services and participating Tanger stores through October. Campaign includes a Crossfit event at 9 a.m. Oct. 21. Check with Shoppers Services for possible specials that day.

Parker’s pink ribbon cups

During October, a portion of proceeds from pink ribbon cups sold at Parkers will be donated to Komen Coastal Georgia.

Kroger pink ribbon icons

Throughout October, Savannah area Kroger stores will sell pink ribbon icons at the register for donations to Komen Coastal Georgia.

Panera tumblers with pink ribbons

Coastal Georgia Panera locations will sell Tervis tumblers with a pink ribbon and the will sell pink bagels with a portion of proceeds benefiting both Komen Coastal Georgia and Statesboro-Bulloch County Breast Cancer Foundation.
